  • ADX822/ADX822P is a highly precise, single-chip analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with an integrated, low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and dual-channel input multiplexer (MUX). It is designed for demanding energy exploration and seismic monitoring environments. The converter uses a fourth-order inherently stable delta-sigma (ΔΣ) modulator to provide excellent noise and linearity performance. The modulator can be used with on-chip digital filters or bypassed for use with post-processing filter options. The flexible input MUX offers additional external input options for measurements as well as internal self-test connections. The PGA features exceptional low noise (5nV/√Hz) and high input impedance, allowing easy connection to geophones and hydrophones across a wide range of gains. The digital filter provides chooseable data rates ranging from 250 to 4000 samples per second (SPS). A high-pass filter (HPF) comes with adjustable corner frequency options. On-chip gain and offset scaling registers support system calibration. The synchronous input (SYNC) can be used to synchronize conversion options among multiple ADX822/ADX822P devices. The SYNC input also accepts clock inputs to continuously align conversions from external source options. ADX822P adds FIFO, daisy-chain, temperature sensor, and internal oscillator enhancements to ADX822. Together, the amplifier, modulator, and filter dissipate 17mW. ADX822/ADX822P are available in a compact TSSOP-28 package and are fully specified from -40°C to +85°C, with a maximum operating temperature range up to +125°C.
